A Visit to Santa Fe

Before we went to Colorado last week, we decided to make a detour and visit our favorite Williams family in Santa Fe!

Julie and Josh live there right now and I miss Julie terribly. They just moved to Santa Fe from Los Alamos (where Josh works) and I was pretty jealous that the climate there is mild enough in the summer to where they don't even need AC.

We got to tour downtown Santa Fe and eat at their favorite Mexican restaurant. They had enormous and delicious sopapillas! We also got to see the art gallery where Julie works! Its a really neat gallery and the owner makes these cool wind sculpture things (I know that's not a technical term, but the best way I know how to describe them), and they are all set up in front of the gallery. It kinda made me think of a tall colorful garden :).

After the grand tour, we played board games, ate pizza and did lots of catching-up.

I vote that they move back to Austin soon!!

Colorado Vacation

We spent last week at family camp with the Grysen family!
Two years ago, we went to a camp called Horn Creek in southern Colorado with Michael's sisters and had a blast, so everyone decided to go back. This year, my in-laws and Michael's Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Brad joined us. The weather there was gorgeous/perfect (high 70s during the afternoon, high 50s/low 60s in the morning and evenings).

I loved being able to spend a whole week with all three of my nieces and my nephew Braeden! We did so many fun things, and it was pretty sad having to be back home this week. Highlights from the week were: water slides, horseback riding up the mountain, hikes with 3 year olds, white water rafting, ipad monopoly with Braeden, sleeping late, and bowling.

Here's a picture dump of the week :)

They were beyond ecstatic to ride the horses!

We had so much fun!!

Sadly, we couldn't take Gaius with us, but not to worry, he was well taken care of by Garrett and his parents in San Antonio. Apparently the 2 boys love playing together and Gaius was even allowed to play with tennis balls in the house! He's already asked me when he can go back :)
